Weddings are wonderful events, but it’s no secret that the planning can be very stressful. After all, you want to make sure that everyone has a good time, and the various components of the event — catering, event space, etc. — goes as smoothly as possible. But like all complicated things, one malfunction threatens to bring the whole thing down if there are no backups in place. Here are three aspects of your wedding to definitely have a Plan B for.
If you are planning a wedding outdoors, you should always have indoor option planned as well. No matter what the weather forecast promises, a bit of rain can ruin your special day if you are not prepared. Most locations that host weddings outdoors also have spaces to rent indoors, so keep this in mind. If you are planning on a wedding on the beach or in a park, having a large tent in place can be a great idea, as well. There are many options you can rent that can put you at ease while still looking great in the location you have selected.
Backup Bridesmaid or Groomsman
You never know when someone can become ill or have an accident or anything else that might keep them from being able to participate in a wedding. If a member of the wedding party gets in a car accident on the way over to the wedding, it is important to have people who will work as “alternates.” Make it fun for the person by giving them an official title and bringing them in on all wedding discussions. It is important that they also have the dresses or suits necessary to join in even at the last minute.
If the vendor who is supposed to provide food and drinks for the party is late or cancels at the last minute, you need to have a backup. If you have a wedding planner working for you, they will already have emergency vendors who can help. Be sure to also know about the vendor’s cancellation policy to get your money back after the wedding. Allow your planner to help you with this, as well.
These are some of the most important backup plans any wedding party should have in place. Do not let rain, missing vendors, or sick groomsmen and bridesmaids ruin your day. Take the time to have a Plan B ready for all of these situations, and you will be amazing by how much less stress you can experience as your special day grows nearer.
